18/03/2026 - Gold Coast & Sunshine Coast Enterprise Bargaining Updates

Both the Gold Coast City Council and Sunshine Coast Council will be undertaking enterprise bargaining this year for new Certified Agreements. There have been several relevant news updates from The Services Union.

Gold Coast proposed to roll over the current Certified Agreement for a 12-month period, accompanied by an administrative wage increase of 3.5% effective from 1 July 2026, and an agreement to commence bargaining from 1 February 2027: City of Gold Coast - Good to great or bad to worse?.

However the 12-month rollover offer was rejected by the unions because it was well below the current CPI rate and due to its numerous conditions and strings attached. Bargaining is now scheduled to start in late April: TSU request to City of Gold Coast CEO!.

Sunshine Coast have proposed a wage increase of 15% over 4 years: Sunshine Coast Council tables wages offer.

A special page has been created to follow the negotiations: Sunshine Coast - 2026 Enterprise Bargaining.

Please Contact us if you would like to provide any information on these negotiations.
